Cassandra Martinez B.A

Founder, and Board Director

About Cassandra

Cassandra Martinez helped cofound Searchlight Society due to her love and passion to help others. After having obtained her Bachelors in Sociology, Cassandra had worked with a children and family agency in Hollywood working with probation, DCFS, and C Sec youth.  Cassandra later had worked for a for-profit group providing Crisis Support and case management in South and Mid Los Angeles. During her time with this company Cassandra was able to gain valuable experience and knowledge pertaining to crisis support and clients with mental health, homeless, and intellectual disability; including dual diagnosis. Although Cassandra enjoyed her time with this company and the work they conducted, Cassandra had felt the need to work with a non-profit agency. Cassandra then pursued a position with San Gabriel Valley Pomona Regional Center, where she worked as a service coordinator. While employed with SGVPRC, Cassandra had applied for Cal State Long Beach's Masters in Social Work program. Cassandra had loved and felt a passion working for the Regional Center. However, again, she would have to leave this endeavor as she was accepted into Cal State Long Beach. Currently Cassandra is working on her masters degree, with a tentative completion date for Spring of 2020. Cassandra currently helps to facilitate and operate Searchlight Society.

Cassandra holds a Bachelor's in Sociology. She is also a Licensed Adult Residential Facility Administrator. Cassandra is trained in CPI, Crisis Support and Deescalation, Homeless Health Care, and the Housing First Model.
