Everything has a Beginning
Searchlight Society was created with a simple question: "How hard would it be to clean that area up?" This question alone is and was the catalyst for our organization. West 8th Street and Garland will always have a special place in our heart.
West 8th Street and Garland was the first location, where Searchlight Society deployed their services: Operation Clean Streets. With only 2 Volunteers and 4 Hours, we were able to clear and remove over 20 32 gallon bags of trash from the street.
Who we are and What we do
Searchlight Society is a 501 C3 registered non-profit. As a grassroots organization, Searchlight is dedicated to raising the standard of care for the populations of people we serve. With a focus on mental health as a forefront of our operations, we believe that a care first approach is what is needed to make a positive and effective impact within our communities.
Searchlight Society is happy to offer services ranging from our: Operation Clean Streets: Were we perform outreach and case management to encampments all while helping our homeless neighbors clean and tidy their camp.
Case Management and Outreach Services: Were we offer comprehensive outreach for people experiencing homelessness, empowering each individual to make the change necessary to elevate themselves from homelessness.
Care Packages: We understand that many of our homeless neighbors have immediate needs that must be met while they are unsheltered. In order to provide some form of immediate aid, our teams deploy Care Packages: Hygiene, Medical, and Food.
H.O.M.E. Line: Our newest addition to our efforts. Our Homeless Outreach Management and Engagement Line is there to help our neighbors experiencing homelessness as well as residents. Our H.O.M.E. Line Connects residents with resources and answers to city efforts and programs to assist our homeless neighbors, in addition this line is an aid line helping connect our homeless neighbors to internal and external services.
